Connecting a computer (windows xp) to two network..?

Question: Connecting a computer (windows xp) to two network..?

(Posted by: hari on 2010-03-09 22:55:17)

Hi, We have two broadband connection in our office. Connection1: This is the primary connection, and the local hosting server is connected in this network. So we use this connection for the internet and for development work. Connection2: This is a stand- by connection in case connection1 internet is down. Problem: When connection1 is down, we will not be able to connect to the internet, but have access to the local hosting server. To access internet we have to switch to connection2. This is a lot of work. Is there a way to access 2 networks at the same time. Hardware: Both the connections are connected through a router. Hence changing the system IP and DNS settings will take it to the right network../ Can anyone suggest what can be done in this case. Thanks in advance for your help. Regards, Hari Prasad S
