Question: What comes after windows xp?

I wanna switch to Windows XP but I'm kinda curious.. what year is it from? What was there before Windows XP and what came after that? Which one is better? No, guys. I got a brand new comp. It's a Notebook, Windows 7.. But I hate it! and I've heard Windows Vista's a piece of shit. I've always used XP and it worked perfectly, but I wanted to know if you got any suggestions.

Vista come after. its currently the best windows.

Timeline: Windows 3.1 - > 95 - > 95 OSR2 - > 98 - > 98 SE - > ME - > 2000 - > XP - > Vista - > 7 Honestly, if you're JUST NOW switching to XP, you really need to buy a new computer.

Vista came after windows xp but with constant driver problems and programming errors. microsoft came out with windows 7, much better running on the internet, better perofrmance, and even with the minimum requirements met, the computer will still run more effectively than vista

Before Windows XP was Windows ME, 2000, 98, 95, and those really old ones like i think 1.0 which i don't recommend downgrading to. The ones after are Windows Vista, and 7. I recommend you upgrading to Windows 7 it is a lot faster than Vista and XP. If you are going to upgrade to Windows 7 and you are using a pretty old computer i also recommend you that you do that test run thing that comes with Windows 7 to see if it is compatibile with your PC.
