Question: Is a mobile broadband usb modem secure?

I am using usb modems/ dongles for virgin prepaid and vodafone mobile broadband. are they secure from other potential users finding the connection and using my allocated prepaid data or seeing info on the computer that i'm using while I'm online? Answers are re- assuring so far but can anyone who answers say where they came by the information? eg websites or support sites

What you are thinking about is wifi not USB modems. Nobody else will be able to use your internet connection only the computer the USB modem is plugged into.

It's actually more secure than wifi, unless someone cloned your sim card.
