Router Information

Question: How do i setup my netgear router?

The CD sucksssss, is there any better way to set it up other than using the CD?i want wifi in my house, Wireless- G Router, is what versioin it is.

Pitch the cd cable up open IE7 in address bar type 192.168.1.1 and hit enter PWD logon box comes up username and pwd are on the yellow card that came with it Now you are inside the router 1. Change the IP address pool and reboot your comp (192.168.35.1) 2. log in again 3. Change the username and pwd to something for you(write it down and secure it!)!!!!!!! 4. log in again 5. Set up wireless security WPA-PSK or better and set up your passcode (letters/ numbers/ spec char) write it down and secure it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The basics- swim around and learn what is in there. Type: "192.168.1.1 " without quotes into your internet browser. It will prompt you for login info: username = admin password = password Once inside this menu you can configure your router, by changing the password to the menu, and setting the name of the wireless network (SSID). You can also add encryption so others cannot access your wireless network (I suggest WPA-PSK). You can consult your manual for help on navigating this menu.
