If i get a router do i have to call the company for wierless or can i just get it?
Is it possible my router can knock the signal out going to my converter box?
I don't have cable, but I have a converter box on the televison. It seems like every since I got my router hooked up, My signals has been bad going coming from my converter box. If I just unplug my router to see if it is indeed causing my problems, would I have to redo my router installation all over again and can I just simply plug my router back in?

Wireless router isn't working?
About two weeks ago I noticed my laptop was running very slow. My memory is fine, and everything is working like it should. No settings have been changed either. I have no viruses or anything either. I'm using Windows XP and Firefox as my browser. What it does is it will start to load the page, then say server not responding. I thought I was the only person having the problem and then my dad using his laptop said the same thing. He is using Windows 7. Also my iPhone connects to that router as well, and it's not working on the internet either. I tried resetting it, unplugging it, disabling the connection on my laptop and reconnecting it, still nothing is working. Any help? It does work sometimes for a few minutes then goes back to being slow again.The router is not even a year old, we have Verizon Fios, haven't contacted them yet, was going to do that today. And yes we did get new neighbors recently, but our router is protected with a password. Could they still be doing something to interfere?
How do i connect my ubee Comcast modem to my d-link router?
Yes I have all the cables and discs and whatever else came in the self installation package. The problem is that I have NO idea how to set everything up. I can connect the modem to my PC and obviously be able to use the internet on it. The problem is that there's no way that I can connect the Ubee Modem to my D Link router. If you know how I can hook this up please give me a step by step walkthrough on what to do.

I thought they are only supposed to direct traffic and not change packet content

My wireless computers won't connect to 3COM router?
I have two computers and an iPhone 3G. One of my computers has been connected to my 3COM router for months with no problem and yesterday I found that it couldn't even find the router...along with this, my iPhone couldn't find it either. However, my HP laptop that is directly connected to the router is working perfectly. In an effort to fix the problem, my mother reset it to the factory settings and now I'm not entirely sure how to reinstall it and to top it all off nobody knows where the help guide went although, my 3 year old nephew might have had something to do with the missing manual... And, the icing on the cake, we can't get ahold of the people we know and trust to install everything on our system. If anybody can still help me, it would be greatly appreciated.
Using wireless router in dorm room?
Hi, I have what I believe is a wireless router. It is a Belkin model. I used to use it at home. It would plug into my parents' PC modem and I guess convert the signal to wireless? This enabled me to use my laptop from all around the house, while they still used their hardwired connection.My question is whether I can use this router to set up a wireless connection in my dorm room. My roommate and I are currently using internet cords plugged into a box type thing don't know they proper term, sorry to access the internet. So yeah, I was just wondering if you think, from my unfortunately vague and probably confusing description, that I could use this router to set up a wireless connection. Note I know that other girls on my floor have set up wireless connections in their room. And no, my school does not have already a uniform wireless access, because we're lame. If you think that this is possible to do, how should I set it up? At home, one cord goes from the Belkin into an outlet, one internet cord goes from the Belkin into the modem, and another internet cord goes from the modem into the PC computer. How should I set this up, using only the router and the box type thing we have in our room?Thankssssss D
DNS issue between Xbox360 and router?
I have an Xbox 360 thats connected to a wireless router which is connected to modem. My desktop computer is also hardwire to the router but i cannot connect to the internet on my computer or connect to xbox live because of a DNS error. I have automatically and manually put in the DNS address and when the computer and Xbox are connected to the modem individually they both work fine. It seems the problem is between the router and the computer Xbox. I have seen a couple people with this same problem but it doesnt seem like anyone has the answer. I contacted my service provider but they NEVER provide me with help and just worsen the situation by telling me to disconnect the router instead of telling me how to fix it.
Vlan pasing through cisco routers?
I have two vlans. 10 and 20. they go through switches and have to pass through two cisco routers. I have configured the interfaces on the switches sides with sub interfaces. but I don't know how to configure the interfaces between the routers. Any advice?

Router connection problems?
I have a netgear router model WPN824 v2. Recently, using my laptop, I cannot connect to the internet. Every time I try to connect, the error " Password is incorrect" comes up. I have tried both my router password and my encryption password and neither of them work. After I enter the router password I get the message " Something still appears to be wrong " That's my dead end. A friend of mine suggest uninstalling reinstalling drives? I have no idea how to do this though. Anyone have a GOOD, SIMPLE walk though, or a better answer? Please?
