Question: If i download a trial version of a photoshop can i buy the upgrade version instead of the full?

You have to buy the full version to begin with. Your cheapest alternative is to buy an old version in full version, and then buy upgrades. You can find inexpensive used copies of PS7 (which upgrades to CS2) and go from there...
