Making silhouettes in photoshop?
I'm trying to make silhouettes in photoshop CS 5. Here's what I've done.1. Duplicated background layer.2. Cut out the background using a mixture of quick selection, magnetic lasso and eraser to leave the image I want and the checkerboard background.So how do I now make that a silhouette and give it a coloured background without having the trace round it again which means I lose some edges?

okay, i am in love with the looks of these pictures...flickr.com search ?q sheye %20rosemeyer& w allmore so, this type of editing flickr.com photos sarah q all of her photos are wonderful, and i've searched flickr for hints, and i've tried actions, and tried a lot of things, but no matter how many times i've tried, i can't get it just right. I am in love with how soft these photos looks, and how they look almost vintage y without being so vintage. i don't know how much sense that makes to you all. haha.any photographers photoshop gurus out there that want to help me with learning how to do something like this?I would love if somebody could give me step by step instructions. it gives me more of a visual for what i'm trying to do. i don't want to pay for actions somebody else created, i want to see if i can master and tweek my own versions. i just can't get that faded pastel look. i get more vintage.
