Windows vista networked with windows 7?

Question: Windows vista networked with windows 7?

(Posted by: steph on 2010-03-10 16:51:25)

I am tiring to share a secondary hard drive from a windows vista home premium machine with a windows 7 Home Premium. It is telling me that I do not have the right permissions to access the harddrive from the windows 7 computer.... Someone help, I have never had this many problems networking two comps. Solved: TY I had to add "EVERYONE " into the permissions list... but it works.

Make sure you are using Simple File Sharing. Open windows explorer. Click Organize. Click Folder and Layout Options. Click the tab labeled View. Scroll down until you see the option called "Use Sharing Wizard ". Make sure it is checked. If you continue to have problems, you can use the Properties dialog for the folder to adjust the security settings on the Security tab. Add "Everyone " with read and execute permissions. This isn't very secure, but it does work.
