Malware Information

Question: I need some good, free software that will protect my pc against viruses, ad-wares, spywares, malware, etc.?

I'm a lot on the internet. I download a lot of music and videos and visit a lot of websites. So I'm an active user. I don''t have a big knowledge about viruses, ad- wares, spywares, etc., I only know that they are bad. ( Are ad- wares, spywares and malware the same thing? ). I don't know what softwares are good, and what kind of softwares do I need. So what softwares do I need to protect me against all the bad stuff that is on the internet. Can you name some good ones, and free.

There is NO ONE SOFTWARE. You need an up to date Anti-Virus Software. A Malware software, and Spyware, and Adaware Remover. avast.com/ index malwarebytes.org/ This will help you a ton.

You can get avast for free at download.com Just type in avast. I don't think it's the best and it's not as good as Kaspersky or Norton but it can still get the job done and it's free!!, for a few months and when the trial is over, you can just download it all over again!!:)

Firefox is a good browser to use if you're not already. It scans your downloads and such for viruses.

If your operating system is Windows XP or above, use AVG Antivirus If it is below XP (ie. windows 98, millenium etc) use Avast antivirus.

Just personal opinion of course. I use Avast , I have also got superantispyware and Malwarebytes. I recently changed to Comodo firewall which seems fine and I seem to boot up quicker. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/ V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/ V and anti spy weekly.
