It varies from person to person, and OS to OS. I prefer Chrome myself. It's the fastest growing of all the browsers and is rapidly reaching the stage where it can rival FireFox and IE. I LOVE the addon that automatically spell checks everything I type on the fly (of course FF may have something similar too for all I know). Firefox is a good on all around, and I used it for a long time before switching to Chrome safari...I don't know. I've never done much with it. I haven't seen anyone outside of mac users playing with it. I guess the fact that none of my computer geek friends were playing with it probably says something about their opinionn about it though.... IE is usually decent (despite what some browser elitist would say). However, I wouldn't advise using IE 8. For many years IE was not compliant to a set of standards for browsers. This caused web developers massive headaches because we had to develop one version of a website for IE and one version for every other browser. Well IE 8 has finally switched to being standards compliant, which I'm happy about! Unfortunatelyy there are old sites which see IE, assume it isn't standards compliant, and hand it none-standards compliant code. Ironically this means IE 8 can break because it's finally following standards that everyone assumes it isn't. Microsoft has handled the conversion surprisingly well without much of the headache I would have anticipated, but this can still cause trouble. Therefore I advise you avoid IE for a little while while it's getting over it's growing pains, hopefully they will be over in a year or so. *sniff* they grow up so fast. |
