(Posted by: Y-K on 2010-02-23 05:26:23)
Folders and files disappear from my flash memory not all but some i only notice them when i need one and when i dont find it i type its address on the address bar so i can view the file. i thought that the file may be hidden so i open the control panel and checked over 9show hidden folders and files) but still with no use. note : when i check the (show hidden folders) and press ok and open again to ensure i find out that it returned to (dont show hidden files or folders ) again need help Thankx |

You might want to re-partition and format the flash memory and see if it still happens, it could be that the FAT table is corrupt.. |

It sounds like your flash memory could be going bad. |

If you cant show hidden files, your computer has a virus. What you can do to see the hidden folders is search for them. In search mode, just enter a period. It will show all files and folders hidden or not. |

Your 'hidden' files' attributes have been changed to that of system files by a virus. There is a software that can change this attribute back to its original attribute - isReset. It can be downloaded from sergiwa.com. But be careful though. Avast Anti virus flags it as a virus but Kaspersky does not and McAfee SiteAdvisor flag its website as green but the WOT Addon in Firefox flag the site as yellow. I suggest you download it from the sergiwa website and download that software only and nothing else. I have been using it to recover many of my school teachers' hidden files like yours. I cannot use it on my computer with Avast Antivirus. I can only use it on my computer with Kaspersky. (Yes, I have two computers.) If the idea of using this software doesn't appeal to you, You can copy and paste from the hidden files into new files. They will be saved to your 'My Documents' folder. After you have copied and pasted them, you can delete the hidden ones. |
