How can i recover data lost/corrupted from my external hard drive?
i lost most of my data from seagate 500GB external hard drive. the file sizes are retained but are not visible. the rest of the data on the external hard drive is corrupted and not alterable

Formatting an external hard drive?
I need to format a My Passport Essential SE hard drive to FAT32 to work with my PS3. When I go to format it on my computer Windows Vista the only options are exFAT and NTFS. Is there any software I can get to format it to FAT32?I forgot to mention that it's a 1 TB hard drive since I know that makes a difference sometimes.

Is there any point to my external hard drive?
I bought an external hard drive because I am completely out of memory, I know it seems impossible to some people, but its true. Thing is, I really need to make a fairly good sized download and soon, I am a game design student and I have to have this download ASAP. I guess I don't really understand how to make it work. I don't really want to download anything to the external HD, but I don't really know how or what to move to it from the C drive. Any help here would be great, what do I move to the external HD, and how, because everything I have tried to move so far only creates a copy in the Ext HD, do I delete the ones from the C drive then or is there a way to simply transfer them over. Btw I do know the difference between memory and disk space, what I didn't know was how to transfer over to it, hence my question... Its ok though I honestly did expect someone to pop something off, lol some people hehe. Game design and general computer work are different also, but that's a whole other discussion. How do I get my external hard drive to work with my ps3?
I have 250GB Seagate External Hard Drive and it will not show up on my PS3 when I connect it. It is currently in a NTFS format but do I have to change it to FAT32 to get it to work? It doesn't even show up on the screen once connected to the PS3 either. Can anybody help me?

I'm looking at getting a 1terabyte external hard drive from known brands like seagate or western digital, i was just wondering if i bought one, would it be compatible with winxp and win7 because i have 2 computers both with each operating system. for example would i be able to, through my external hard drive transfer files? like music? or videos?

Would it be possible to install Starcraft 2 onto an external hard drive?
I'm leaving for uni in a couple of weeks and to pass some of the free time i will have, i wanted to be able to play Starcraft 2 on my laptop. However it is quite a taxing game and i want my laptop to run with maximum efficiency. So i thought would it be possible to install the game onto my external hard drive It has 1Tb so space isn't a problem so that my laptop can still hold onto its free space and i can still play online with out a problem.So is this possible? Can I still play on line even though its installed onto my external hard drive?And if so how do I go about doing it?Thank you in advance

Two weeks ago I bought a Hitachi Desk Pro external hard drive. Today I booted up the computer. Opened the computer icon and the only thing in there was the standard c and d drive. I have looked for ways to have the computer look for the driver but i have done all I can think of. What else can I do?

How can I find my Verbatim external hard drive?
I have a Verbatim external hard drive and it's been working for the past few months. I had created what I thought was a shortcut on my desktop so that I could easily access the files on the hard drive. But the other day I felt it unnecessary to have that on my desktop any longer. So I deleted the what I thought was the shortcut. Now when I go to access the files from my computer, I can no longer find the hard drive. I have to access the files through the recent items folder. Is there any way to get my external hard drive to show up in my computer again?

Is it possible to install Windows 7 on a Macbook pro using bootcamp from an image on an external hard drive? I have a macbook pro and need to wipe it and install snow leopard and windows 7, but the DVD drive is broken. So im installing Snow leopard from an external right now. What i want to know is if i copy an ISO onto a external hard drive from my PC at home running windows 7 will mac be able to recognize the external drive when booting up? But I also need an external hard drive no more than 70gb for files for work. So my question is, if I get a 320gb External Hard drive, can I use 250 for my time capsule or however much it takes up and then still use the remaining part of it for my work files?
