Computer doesn't see my compact flash card?
Why does my computer not register my compact flash card. I have two flash cards and two readers, all brand new, so they can't be broke. The usb port I am using is ok too, as if I put a usb flash pen in it comes up as drive F on my computer. So how can my computer not see the Flash card? Thanks in advance for any help.

I have an ATP 4GB Compact Flash that is used for a computer and not for photos or with a camera.It is Linux OS and after I format it in Win XP, the files are still there. Is there a program such as Boot and Nuke which is for IDE drives that will wipe the compact flash clean?? I've also tried to fdisk format in DOS which does not work either. Any suggestions?

Hi. I have sound files on a compact flash disk that i would like to upload to my computer via a card reader. The computer recognises the card reader, and will work for other types of cards, yet when I put in the compact flash card it stops recognising the card reader. Is there software I need to download? Thanks the brand of both the card and card reader are " kingston techoolgy" if this helps

Has anyone mailed a small compact flash card via USPS in a small envelope & it arrived ok?
I want to send my friend this. Maybe if I wrapped it in bubble wrap & stuck it in the envelope just the standard sized mailing envelope that requires .44 postage but wasn't sure if it would crack in the mailing machines. Anyone mailed this or similar items w success?This is for a digital camera.

BTW I'm running Windows Vista. If it helps at all, I have a Dell.I have an embedded compact flash card slot on my computer. For some reason when I put my compact flash CF card in the slot my computer says it can not recognize the card.A box comes up that says " USB Device Not Recognized" . I clicked the bold part that said, " Unknown Device" and I got another box. that says, " Unknown Device Properties" . How do I get my computer to recognize my CF card?Thanks for your help The card has worked many times before.

Whats faster if you are using it as your only drive (bootable Hard Drive)- Compact Flash or SD?
Trying to decide if I should get a compact flash IDE adapter or a SD IDE adapter for my X41 since it's near impossible to find a HD with the X41's IDE connection but at 1.8" .This would be my only drive, so I want it would need to run Vista Windows 7 , and I'd logically like to go with whichever would be faster.

Why does my Compact Flash GPS card work in a USB card reader?
I have a Compact Flash GPS card which works fine in my PDA. I thought that if I put it into a USB card reader into the CF slot, obviously and plugged the reader into my laptop, then Windows would prompt me for a driver and the rest would be simple. It doesn't work. Windows does not prompt for a driver in fact it doesn't seem to 'see' the GPS unit at all. Why not? Is there a way to use this card with my laptop? Thank you.
