Easy hard drive backup software for begginers?
hey guys,my gran has a computer and she wants to back up her files on her portable hdd, so she went to the shop and the guy there gave her some crazy backup software that slows everything down and and uses terms she doesnt understand, its getting her annoyed. So, I was wondering if there was any free software she could get that would be relatively easy for her to use. If there isnt really any, or there's a better solution, please say. thanks in advance

Help with finding backup software?!?!?
I'm trying to find some sort of software that will monitor selected folders, so when I change something in them, i.e add a new file, the software will recognize this and copy the new file into the backup folder on my external HDD. Like a live file sync sort of thing. I want this so I don't have to copy over the whole folder every time I make a change to it.Any help would be greatly appreciated Thank you in advance
Looking for specific backup software?
So I recently bought a new external hard drive... and well i want to start using this to my advantage and automatically backing up files folders ect...Here is what I am looking for A. The ability to sync whatever is in my music documents folder onto my external hard drive. Only at specific times basically mirroring the folders, , NOT real time. I'm gonna need this done maybe 1 2 times a week.Example if a file is removed from the music folder it will still be located on the external. It will NOT upload my whole music folder every time a sync comes up... only newly added files or modified files .B. The ability to backup specific files and folders and save the date during that save.Example so lets say I have a file namedmpdata.logI would want it saved every X often X is where I define how often asmpdata MM DD YY.log m month d day y year or in folders with the date named. basically just a backup saved with a date when specified.I'm looking for an all in one program... any ideas?

i am going to start doing my work experience in a small pr company 8 people . They have asked me to suggest which database system would be best for them to upgrade too. They currently have a excel database with about 15000 20000 entries but obviously they would like to upgrade to a 'proper' database system. Which would you think would be the best to suggest? Backup software - advice?
I want a backup software that backups files on the fly.In another words, when I save a file, it mirrors a copy onto another drive immediately. I don't want it to back up files once a day, once and hour, etc, I want it to back them up only when I save them. And or gives me the option to do that.What I have to do now is save the file, then re save it to another drive. Time consuming and prone to errors. Or run backup software.I know I can do that with a raid system, but I don't want to go that route. Freeware would be best.Thanks.
