Backup And Restore Information

Question: How will windows 7 backup and restore work? are the files i backed up on vista gonna work on windows 7?

In about 6 months, i will get a new computer with windows 7. i currently have vista home premium and i backup my files on a hard drive. upon installation of windows 7, will i be able to restore the files on my external hard drive that was backed up on my vista laptop to the new windows 7 desktop?

Yeah files should work you may need to run as admin (like win vista) some maybe compatibility like win vista all should work m8
