How will windows 7 backup and restore work? are the files i backed up on vista gonna work on windows 7?
in about 6 months, i will get a new computer with windows 7. i currently have vista home premium and i backup my files on a hard drive.upon installation of windows 7, will i be able to restore the files on my external hard drive that was backed up on my vista laptop to the new windows 7 desktop?

Can you recover your computer from a virus with a system image made form windows backup and restore or dose it have to be used only if windows dose not load? I do not currently have a virus or anything else major wrong with my computer but i would like to know if this is possible to do. I have windows 7 and made 1 system image and a repair disk with the backup and restore feature.Please note that i am not talking about system restore. Windows backup a completely different feature and i plan on running all my virus and spyware scans each time i create a system image so the system images should be fine.
