How can I recover a windows drive that was formatted with linux?
I hope I can do this.I have an external drive that I used with a Windows XP laptop. Sometimes I would copy files from a Linux laptop to the external drive. That way I could just plug the external back to the XP laptop and see the files.In any case, I couldn't get some dumb files off of my Linux drive to the external. A simple copy and paste wouldn't work. So, I used a clone feature in Linux. I didn't see a warning saying that the drive would be re formatted, but that was really my mistake, since obviously, the clone would have to be in the same format.As it is now, I copied cloneda 10GB linux partition to a 500 GB external that was either FAT32 or NTFS.Is it possible to retrieve the XP 1's and 0's from the unused in Linux, at least from that drive.I don't think that it actually wrote or re formatted the entire drive.That is, I think it did a quick format.Thanks

I have windows Vista and yesterday everything was find and today when i turned it on EVERYTHING was zoomed in. So i looked up how to change it back everything was telling me to right click then Screen Resolution and so on. That didn't work nor did the classic icon trick. EVERYTHING is zoomed in. When i open the internet its zoomed iTunes, IM, Taskbar...everything. Please help.

when i typed the password,it said " A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the license for this computer. Error Code 0x80070005." ,so if u press " YES" ,then it will go to a endless loop,then i uninstalled AVG anti virus.the problem was gone,and back to normal again...now i install AVG again,but i can enter windows too,does anyone know what's the problem on earth??
How do I back up my windows 98 hard drive or my documents when I can't attach an external drive?
I am having so many problems with my two computers. One got infected with a horrible virus and I used to use a network to back the other one up to the infected one, which of course I don't want to do now. So, I tried to plug in my external drive but I have 1.0 USB port and the drive is 2.0. Some people have said that it should work it would just work more slowly, but my computer which has used drive A, C F, can't assign a letter to the external drive for some unknown reason. I'd buy a 2.0 port and install it, but lots of people say that they don't always work with windows 98 SE. The bottom bar has an icon that says detach external drive safely, so something acknowledges the drive. The computer doesn't have the drivers for flash drives and if it doesn't recognize an external drive, I'm not so sure it would recognize a flash drive even with the drivers. I tried inserting a zip drive from a dead computer and I moved the cables from the CD Rom drive which was the F drive, since there weren't extra cables. When I powered up the computer it said that there was some sort of A drive problem, but that diskette drive works just fine. The diskettes are too small to back up the hard drives.The only thing I can think of is to return the cables to the CD drive and to detach the cable from my second hard drive and use that cable for the zip drive and see if it works then. Do you have any other ideas? And do you think I could use online storage? I'm not sure that the online software would work with Windows98. Someone said you can store files in Yahoo mail, but I don't think I can attach a large file to an E mail, if that is what I'd have to do.

hey guys i need some help here, im using a shared computer with my brother so we use different user accounts on the computer. i cant seem to log into my user account, everytime i key in my password it says welcome and then " logging off" and brings me back to the page where i can choose which user to log into. i've tried removing my password to the user account and still cant access into my account.my bro is not at home so i'm not sure if he's facing the same problem as me.im currently using the administrator account HELP HELP
Connecting a computer (Windows XP) to two network..?
Hi,We have two broadband connection in our office.Connection1 This is the primary connection, and the local hosting server is connected in this network. So we use this connection for the internet and for development work.Connection2 This is a stand by connection in case connection1 internet is down.Problem When connection1 is down, we will not be able to connect to the internet, but have access to the local hosting server. To access internet we have to switch to connection2. This is a lot of work.Is there a way to access 2 networks at the same time.Hardware Both the connections are connected through a router. Hence changing the system IP and DNS settings will take it to the right network.. Can anyone suggest what can be done in this case. Thanks in advance for your help.Regards,Hari Prasad S
Windows Movie Maker Help!!!?
I made myself a highlight tape for football so I have about 30 clips in my tape. But every time I try to save it to my computer, it will get to about 43 % and will say " Windows Movie Maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verify that the original source files used in your movie are still available, that the saving location is still available, and that there is enough free disk space available, and then try again." I don't have any X's on any of my pictures or clips and I am pretty sure that I have enough space in my drive. Sooo what the problem???

Will a custom install of Windows 7 affect my second hard drive?
I recently added a 2 TB hard drive to my computer. I also upgraded several other hardware components and am now planning to upgrade from Windows 7 Professional 32 bit to Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. This, of course, means that I must perform a " custom" or " clean" installation, which will completely and entirely clear my C drive. My question is Will this affect my additional, secondary 2 TB hard drive? Should I unplug it? If I unplug it for the installation, then plug it back in after, will it be recognized by my computer, and will all of my data be safe? Or can I confidently perform the custom install, select my C drive and know that my data on the 2 TB will be safe with it still plugged in?
